Overview
I’ve designed a companion app for the electronic music festival MUTEK. This festival distinguishes itself from other electronic events because of its goal to further develop digital creativity in sound, music and audio-visual art.

Problem Statement
How might we help visitors manage their festival schedule more efficiently? Attendees at the MUTEK festival need a simple way to plan their activities so they get the most out of their festival experience.

Research
The objective is to figure out how festival attendees experience the event. Do they have a structured plan or are they simply going with the flow? What are the challenges they face when attending a festival and are there any ideas on how to overcome them?

Empathy Map
Produced an empathy map to better understanding the end users

User Interviews
conducted multiple interviews with distinct users before designing

Secondary Research
Secondary research and competitive analysis

Key Features
After going over my research, I chose to focus on developing two main features, Timeline View & My Schedule. This would help guests get the most out of their visit.

Low-fidelity wireframe
I created a paper wireframe to collect usability data as soon as possible

Mid-fidelity wireframe
The mid fidelity wireframe allowed to quickly identify usability issues

High-fidelity wireframe
The high fidelity wireframe allowed for the most realistic user testing
Iterations
The most significant takeaway from user testing was that the performance date on the artist details page was being overlooked. Subjects arrived at that page and would skip over the performance date, which is crucial information.
